SOLENT FAMILY MEDIATION HOVE

If you’re experiencing a separation or family breakdown in Hove, mediation can provide a confidential, respectful alternative — giving you a chance to negotiate solutions together, without going straight to court.

Can Solent Mediation HOVE HELP AVOID COURT?

A qualified mediator gives you the opportunity to discuss sensitive matters such as child arrangements, asset division, or who remains in the family home in a safe space. The goal is to help you forge a fair agreement acceptable to everyone.

If mediation doesn’t result in an agreement, going to court remains an option. But many families in Hove find mediation leads to a quicker, less stressful, and more affordable resolution than traditional court proceedings.

WHAT SERVICES DO SOLENT MEDIATION HOVE OFFER?

Speak to Solent Mediation to find out why Family Mediation is the best solution for resolving disputes around divorce and child access.

Our accredited mediation service in Hove provides a neutral, supportive environment where you can discuss and reach agreement on issues such as:

  • Arrangements for children — residence, contact schedules, holidays, and parenting plans.

  • Financial matters and property — including the family home, savings, pensions, and other assets.

  • Other separation-related issues — such as maintenance, support, future planning and childcare arrangements.

We aim to help you communicate better, reach agreements that safeguard the well-being of all involved (especially children), and ease the transition to a fair, sustainable new arrangement.

COST EFFECTIVE AND FASTER Mediation is generally less expensive than court proceedings, and often leads to quicker resolution.

YOU STAY IN CONTROL You and the other party decide the outcome together, rather than having a court impose a decision.

Solent Mediation Hove

Your first step: MIAM & Initial Meeting

Before any court application for family matters (e.g. child arrangements or finance/property disputes), you will normally need to attend a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) — a short, confidential meeting with a mediator.

During a MIAM you’ll:

  • Explain your situation and what you hope to achieve.
  • Learn about mediation and whether it might suit your case.
  • Get guidance on costs, support options, or alternative dispute resolution if mediation isn’t appropriate.

If both parties agree to proceed, you can then move into full mediation sessions. If not or if mediation isn’t suitable, the mediator can issue a certificate enabling you to apply to court.

Our mediation services in Hove are available to:

  • Couples separating or divorcing,  whether married, civil partners, or cohabiting.
  • Families with children needing new arrangements.
  • Anyone needing a fair, amicable route to resolve finances, property or parenting plans.
  • People seeking a confidential, supportive environment where both parties have an equal voice.
